Baked Onion Rings

Delicious crispy onion rings with a fantastic dip, perfect as a small starter or a snack. The recipe can easily be multiplied, so you can make batches for more people.

BAKED ONION RINGS
2 SERVINGS

ONION RINGS:
1 LARGE WHITE ONION
100 G FLOUR
1/2 TSP. CAYENNE PEPPER
SALT AND PEPPER
2 EGGS
2 TBSP. WATER
100 G PANKO BREADCRUMBS

Preheat the oven to 230 degrees celsius.

Place a baking tray with baking paper into the center of the oven while it preheats.

Remove the outer layer of the onion and cut off the ends.

Cut the onion into thick rings, about 2 cm thick.

Separate the rings and place them in a bowl of water.

Mix flour, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper together in a medium bowl.

Whisk the egg with water in another bowl.

Place the panko crumbs into a third bowl.

Toss the rings in the flour, then eggs and finally coat the rings in panko crumbs before placing them on the hot baking sheet with baking paper and greased with a little baking spray.

Bake the onion rings in the middle of the oven for 15 minutes, flip them over and bake them for another 5 minutes until golden brown.

HORSERADISH DIP:
100 G MAYONNAISE
40 G PREPARED HORSERADISH
3 TSP. KETCHUP
1/4 TSP. PAPRIKA
1/4 TSP. SALT
1/8 TSP. GARLIC POWDER
1/8 TSP. DRIED OREGANO
DASH OF BLACK PEBER
DASH OF CAYENNEPEBER

Mix everything together in a bowl.
