Homemade Whisky Sauce

It’s incredibly easy to make this sauce, maybe 10-15 min. of time spent and then you have a tasty and delicous sauce. It tastes a million times better than any sauce you can buy. The sauce only needs a few ingredients and a good whisky, that’s important. When you take the time to make a sauce from scratch, you might as well make use of good ingredients. Serve the sauce as a side to a juicy steak or a roast…or with a straw?

HOMEMADE WHISKY SAUCE
4 SERV.

100 G BUTTER
70 G TOMATO PURÉ
1 TSP. DRIED ROSEMARY
1 TSP. DRIED THYME
2 TBSP. GOOD WHISKY
2 TSP. SUGAR
250 ML DOUBLE CREAM 38%
SALT AND PEPPER

Grind rosemary and thyme together to a semi-fine powder. Set aside for later.

Melt the butter in a sauce pan over mid-high heat and add the tomato pure, stir until butter and tomato are well mixed together.

Add rosemary, thyme, whisky and sugar, whisk lightly and let the alcohol evaporate during the next couple of minutes.

Pour the cream in and whisk again, while the ingredients blend together and become thick and creamy.

Turn down the heat and let the sauce simmer until it’s time to serve it.

Add salt, pepper and extra sugar to taste.
