One of the best things you can sink your teeth into is a home-made burger, from scratch. And it’s perfect for those hot summer evenings straight from the BBQ.
HOMEMADE BURGER
4 SERVINGS.
BEEF PATTIES:
500 g GROUND BEEF
50 G BREAD CRUMBS
1 EGG
2 TSK DIJON MUSTARD
SALT AND PEPPER
Mix all the ingredients together with extremely clean fingers and shape them to 4 patties, about 160g each.
Place them in the fridge for a minimum of 30 minutes.
Sear the steaks in a little butter (or on the BBQ) about 5 min on each side until the meat juices runs clear.
When the patties are about done, add a piece of cheese on top. Lay a piece of aluminium foil loosely over the pan. The cheese melts easier over the patty this way, because of the steam that forms underneath the aluminium foil.
PICKLED CUCUMBERS:
SLICED CUCUMBERS
100 ML VINEGAR
50 ML SUGAR
Add the amount of cucumber slices, you want on your burger, to a bowl.
Mix vinegar and sugar together.
Place the cucumbers in the layer and leave it for a minimum of 10 minutes.
ASSEMBLY:
SALAD
TOMATO
COOKED SLICED BACON
CHEESE SLICES
MUSTARD
KETCHUP
BURGER BUNS
FRENCH FRIES
Assemble the burger: Spread ketchup and mustard onto the buns, add salad, tomato, pickled cucumbers, bacon and patties to you preference.
